We are often told by older generations about “the good old days”, when people had manners, men were chivalrous, times were simpler. I think that “the good old days” is a myth.

What was it like then for women? Having physical doors opened, but metaphorical doors shut. What was it like then for LGBTQ people? For minorities and people of colour? For child labour? For poor people? We are constantly evolving and I would say we are less sexist, racist and homophobic than ever in our existence so don’t lament the good old days, celebrate where we have come and are going to because the reverse is true.
